Cannabis can be both helpful and harmful to your pets—Come learn about how in this class!

As medical marijuana programs expand across the nation, more and more people are discovering their own personal medicinal relationship with this ancient herb. As people experience improvements in their own health and wellness, they wonder if it would also be good or helpful for their pets.

Veterinarians, like physicians, have limited experience with cannabis as medicine. As pet owners, it becomes our responsibility to make the best decisions regarding their wellbeing. Though articles abound on the internet about cannabis and pets, it’s hard for pet owners to know what direction to take. One thing is for sure, pets and people DO NOT have the same tolerance and pets should be treated very carefully. The other concern is THC toxicity due to the unauthorized consumption of cannabis and cannabis products by your pet.

In this class, we will address the pros and cons of administering cannabis to your pets. We will explore the effects, options, and protocols. And, even if you have no plans to give cannabis to your pets but consume it yourself, there is a chance your pet may get into your medicine. This can be very scary. We will discuss what to do if your pet consumes THC unexpectedly.

This class will cover how to help and protect your pets.

Key takeaways:

  • What to do if your pet becomes ill due to unintentional cannabis consumption;
  • Understanding your pet’s Endocannabinoid System;
  • If your pet is ill, this class will address ways pet owners have utilized cannabis for healthcare;
  • Veterinarians’ opinions regarding CBD and THC for pets.
